Contests and Awards (C&A) Committee

LAST YEAR The Contest and Awards committee in charge of running all of the contests during LEDCON, as well as revising award rubrics, contest check-in, judging, and all award presentations. From reviewing the Code of Contests and Awards to presenting awards at LEDCON, the committee is hard at work recognizing club's accomplishments in service and beyond throughout the year.

Last Year’s Goals:

  • New Awards

    • UNICEF Cup, Member Award

  • Create more visually appealing guides for Officer Award rubrics

  • Provide examples of material contests

  • Interview series with the District Staff about the Officer Awards

  • Review C&A Code and revise point distribution if necessary

District Project Committee

Our committee is tasked with helping all of our clubs address an unmet need in the Texas-Oklahoma community. We hope to help all of our clubs make a big impact in their local community so the T-O district makes a big impact overall.

Last Year’s Goals:

  • Work alongside with TP and PR committee to create promotional flyers for LTGs to include in their monthly materials such as newsletters and meetings

  • Work together to create an informational document that briefly discusses the district project and its mission for the term, including monthly challenges

  • Hold a joint workshop with governor’s project committee in order to present both projects and further info on ways clubs to be active with them, as well as answer questions face-to-face

Governor’s Project Committee

This committee focuses on developing and engaging the Governor’s Project, following this year’s theme of “Minds in Motion” throughout all of T-O! This project aims to promote and foster comprehensive academic and personal growth. It encourages individuals to expand their knowledge, prioritize mental health and well-being, and pursue their passions through community service. By participating in “Minds in Motion,” members can lead by example in their schools and communities, managing their own stress and well-being while also assisting their peers in recognizing the importance of mental health alongside academic commitments.

Last Year’s Goals:

  • Raise $3,500 for Erika’s Lighthouse

  • Have 1000 Schoolhouse Certified Tutors and 250 Hours of Tutoring

  • Governor’s Project Newsletter

  • Provide more resources and publications on how to follow the Governor’s Project

  • Start a #MindsInMotion hashtag on Instagram

  • Host at least 2-3 District Webinars

Kiwanis Family and International Relations Committee

The purpose of the K-Family and International Relations Committee is to bridge the K-Family branches by creating resources and serving as a liaison, promote strong relationships with Key Club International and Kiwanis International, and assist in the chartering process.

Last Year’s Goals:

  • Increase interaction between K-Family branches through socials and information sessions

  • Regularly come up with new projects for Key Clubs to do with other branches

  • Collaborate with membership to charter new Key Clubs

  • Identify and make Key Clubs aware of neighboring clubs from other branches

  • Increase the number of Builder's Clubs and K-Kids Clubs

Membership Growth and Retention Committee

LAST YEAR The Membership Committee promotes membership growth, drafts ideas to increase membership, deals with collecting club dues, and works to improve key club member engagement and retention. We will work to design a plan to help all clubs increase their membership, identify inactive clubs and help recharter/reactivate them, charter new clubs at schools with no current Key Club, and promote the membership resources available to clubs through social media, newsletters, emails, etc.

Last Year’s Goals:

  • Charter at least 20 key clubs

  • Increase district membership by at least 25%

  • Create new membership retention resources with detailed, accurate information

  • Share membership recruitment tips with club officers/faculty advisors through virtual District Wide Socials and social media

  • Improve general key club member engagement

Public Relations Committee

LAST YEAR The PR works to promote all district activity on social media, the website, and other creative means, ensure that all clubs in the district are knowledgeable about district events and attempt to increase attendance at district events, organize social media posts, such as the “Meet the Board” stories, and communicate with the other committees to determine what posts are needed.

Last Year’s Goals:

  • Total of 80 posts by the end of term

  • Finish the YAPP app at least 2 weeks before convention

  • Finish and upload promotional videos created by PR and the board

  • Assist other committees in making flyers or posts

  • Send out posts in a timely manner

Regulations, Elections, and Credentials (REC) Committee

LAST YEAR REC is the committee dedicated to preserving and enhancing the governing documents of the district. We make amendments to reduce redundancy, simplify for clarity, and update documents for timeliness. It is our job to strip away the terrifying big words and help the district and clubs through a better understanding of the parliamentary procedure and understandable regulations.

Last Year’s Goals:

  • Enhance Clarity and Consistency within District Documents

  • Inform Clubs about Parli Pro & Bylaws and HOD

    • Create informative video guides during board meetings to help clubs develop their understanding of Parli Pro and the District Documents

  • Increase Amendment suggestions from District

    • Host quarterly meetings with regions to assist with amendment suggestions

    • Post interactive videos to increase suggestions

    • Posting effective amendment suggestions, showcasing their success to motivate other clubs

Welcoming Activity Committee

LAST YEAR The Welcoming Activity Committee works throughout the year to plan the welcoming activity at our annual convention, LEDCON! We are responsible for coming up with a list of festivities that will help attendees let loose and potentially meet new people. On top of having Andy B’s, we hope to plan other fun activities that clubs can do. This year, we hope we can outdo ourselves and give y’all an even greater memorable experience!

Last Year’s Goals:

  • 80% of ALL LEDCON attendees participate in the Welcoming Session

  • 50% of ALL LEDCON attendees come to Welcoming Session BEFORE Andy B’s!

  • Host 1 drive each for District & Governor’s Project PRIOR AND DURING LEDCON

  • During LEDCON preparations, Welcoming Session room must be fully decorated in this year LEDCON Theme with a grand entrance, itinerary poster, Welcoming Session flyers, and more

  • Create and Distribute PROMOTIONAL FLYERS to ALL LTGs and Schools to promote LEDCON during the month of January & February

  • Direct Outreach to ALL schools & clubs regarding LEDCON
