This entire year has been a strange one to say the least. Especially since a lot of club activities have been shut down and won’t start back up again until September, I feel that it’s unfair to club editors to scramble to find photos, especially with articles, in such a difficult circumstance. Taking that into consideration, I have decided to remove the photo requirement in articles and HOTOs for August submissions. This means that the max points per article and HOTO is 4 points instead of 5. The maximum amount of articles is still 5 articles, and the max for HOTO is still 1. Total points for articles will now be 20 points and 4 for HOTO, and these will be divided by 2 (instead of 2.5) to convert to club points.
Although a photo will not be required, I still encourage editors to include them in your articles and HOTOs if you can. I will say that articles with an image attached will have a higher chance of being featured on the next Tex-O-Key. If you have any questions regarding this change, please contact me through my Remind ( code @toeditors ) or by my email firstname.lastname@example.org .
The revised rubric is posted on our website under “Editor Resources” as “August 2020 Articles/HOTO Rubric”.
AGAIN, THIS IS ONLY FOR THE AUGUST 2020 SUBMISSIONS. I WILL GO BACK TO GRADING BASED ON THE ORIGINAL RUBRIC FOR THE SEPTMEBER SUBMISSIONS DUE ON OCTOBER 5TH.
