Top 5 Projects – January

The following are the Top 5 projects from the January reports. Congratulations to all the clubs listed on your outstanding service! These projects are great ideas for any club to use. Please read them and use these as ideas for service projects for your club:

Blankets for the HomelessArlington Key Club made blankets throughout the month of January to donate to local nursing homes. They spent an hour after school each week working on these blankets and were able to make 76 blankets for the nursing homes. Arlington Key Club then distributed the blankets they had to the local nursing homes.

Key Club Book DriveBullard Key Club held a book drive in their community and received over 150 books and $60 in donations. Members donated these books to the Early Childhood campus as well as spent a few hours each week reading to children at that campus.

Cards for Cook Children’sMansfield Summit Key Club made Valentine’s Day card for patients at Cook Children’s Hospital. Members created motivational cards for the patients in the hospital and placed them in goodie bags for the children. The goodie bags were then delivered to the children to spread happiness and smiles around the hospital.

Braille BiblesPaschal Key Club met up each week to create one book from the bible and put it into braille to send out to countries around the world. These books were created for the people who have lost their sight and are wanting to learn the word of the lord.

Early Bird Reader/National Reading DayWeatherford Key Club assisted first graders in learning how to read each week by spending an hour helping them sounding out and defining words for them. As well as doing this Weatherford Key Club spread the importance of reading at their local library by getting the opportunity to read to multiple classes of Pre-K, Kindergarten, and 1st graders. Members were able to spread the importance of reading and education to future generations.

Keep up the amazing Texas-Oklahoma service! I can’t wait to see what other service projects you guys participate in next month!
